Deaths at Immigrant Adult Detention Centers

From 2010 to 2012, a total of eight deaths were recorded at immigration detention facilities due to violations of medical standards. This report was found by the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU), Detention Watch Network, and National Immigrant Justice Center.

The number has risen significantly over the last six years. Press releases from 2016 to 2018 report a total of 30 deaths that were a result of medical negligence by Immigrant Detention Centers across the nation. The list of press releases is continually updated.
