CSC Provides Religious Worker Filing Tips

In a recent USCIS Stakeholders Meeting at the California Service Center (CSC), the CSC shared various practice and case preparation tips for nonimmigrant I-129R and special immigrant religious worker I-360 petitions (AILA Doc. No. 12021547).

CSC recommended consulting specific USCIS checklists M-736 and M-737(available at USCIS.gov) to prepare comprehensive, complete cases. Additionally, CSC specifically recommended:

1) Ensure that R-1 Supplement for the non-immigrant I-129R petition has been signed;

2) Ensure that same person with demonstrated authority to sign on behalf of the petitioner signs all of the forms.

3) Provide a valid determination letter from IRS when seeking to establish status as 501(c)(3) tax exempt organization.

4) Provide specific documentation supporting all non-salary compensations. If providing room and board, provide copies of rent receipts, lease documents, photos of living space, and food receipts, etc.
