Catholic News Service: Catholic immigration advocates are urging Congress to act on DACA
After yesterday’s ruling by the Fifth Circuit Court deeming the DACA program unlawful, Catholic immigration advocates are calling for Congress to act to provide lasting legal options for DACA recipients. A three-judge panel affirmed a lower court’s ruling that the Obama administration did not have the legal authority to create DACA. The ruling preserves the program for current DACA recipients but does not allow for the processing of new applications.
