Like many migrants, María Esmeralda Ramírez Garcia never wanted to leave her home. She and her sons were forced to abandon their home at a moment’s notice with a Colombian gang on their trail. Eight months later, she represents a growing number of migrants stuck in limbo awaiting U.S. entry in Nogales, Mexico, who have found community with other migrants waiting in shelters.
